Diamonds’ Adventure

Wedding bands and diamonds have undoubtedly been the emblematic and indispensable sign of unity throughout antiquity. A number of international standards are used as a guide, varying from the diamond's purity to its uniqueness, as one of nature's most valuable metals.

4 C’s of Diamonds
When choosing a diamond, there are four important elements to be considered. These qualities are listed as Carat, Color, Clarity, and Cuts everywhere throughout the world.

Carat
The diamond's weight is measured in carat, which is a specific unit of weight. A carat is divided into 100 points, and half a carat equals 50 points or 0.50 ct. Although it is common knowledge that higher-carat diamonds are more costly, there are additional factors that determine quality.

Color
One of the most popular myths about diamonds is their being colorless. Diamonds are classified on a 20-color scale that ranges from ultra-white to yellowish-white. One of the most essential variables affecting the quality of your diamond is the lettering from D to Z.

Diamonds range in hue from colorless to yellow to light brown, with yellow, blue, and even red diamonds seldom occurring.

*D-F Extra White *G-J White *K-M Close to White *N-R Very Light Yellow *S-Z Light Yellow

Diamonds after 'Z' on the color scale tend to be more expensive and darker yellow due to their rarity.

Clarity

Carbon makes up the majority of diamonds. Other elements are locked inside during the heating process, giving each diamond its own distinct fingerprint. The clarity of your diamond is determined by these inclusions.

Nature's traces can be found on diamonds, one of nature's gifts to humanity. One of the characteristics that determine the diamond's quality is its distinct traces. The fewer natural marks on the stone, the clearer it is and the more valuable it is.

When a professional grader examines a diamond, the clarity is measured and interpreted in the following terms:

FL = Flawless: there is no obvious residue or flaws.

IF / Internally Flawless: There are just a few minor defects.
VVS1 - VVS2 / Very Little Included: Inclusions are difficult to identify.
Closures are readily apparent but are regarded minor in VS1–VS2 / Slightly Included.
Slightly Included (SI1-SI2): The classifier detects inclusions.
Included: I1 - I2 - I3 / I1 - I2 - I3 / I1 - I2 - I3 Relics can be seen with the naked eye. Inclusions are noticeable and can have an impact on transparency and shine.

Cut

The only element of a diamond's quality that's also determined by humans - is its cut. A carefully cut diamond reflects light flawlessly and has the diamond's inherent sparkling glitter in the hands of a good cutter.
The quality of the diamond's dimensions and symmetry is the fundamental meaning of cut. The dimensions of your diamond have such a significant impact on its brightness. The perfect cut diamond takes into account depth, plate size, crown height and inclination, girdle thickness, and other factors to allow the most intensity of daylight to return from the top of the diamond.

What is the significance of a Diamond Certificate?
The 4Cs (Color, Clarity, Cut, and Carat) are the objective attributes that determine the price of a diamond. The value of a diamond is determined by the relation between these four properties. Although the carat is the most important part of the 4C, color, cut, and clarity have a much bigger impact on the appearance of a diamond, and diamond certification certifies all of a diamond's attributes.
Many international organizations, including the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and the American Gem Society (AGS), as well as the International Gemological Institute (IGI) and HRD Antwerp, provide this rating. The United States Institute of Gemology (GIA) is the most well-known and reputable diamond grading organization in the world.
Every diamond is unique and one-of-a-kind. In terms of reliability, certification of diamonds certified according to worldwide criteria is critical. Ark goods are accompanied by certificates from our in-house experts attesting to the authenticity and characteristics of the diamonds. Both GIA and Ark-certified diamonds are available at Ark Jewelry.

The 7 Most Popular Diamond Shapes

Round Cut

Round brilliant-cut diamonds are the most precious of all diamonds because they display the brightest diamond. Round diamonds look great in any style and setting, and they look even better when paired with complementary gemstones that draw attention to the specific stone.

Cushion Cut

Cushion-cut diamonds have gently softened sides and are square or rectangular in shape. Cushion-cut diamonds are less brilliant than round diamonds, but their many faces most vividly refract all the colors of the spectrum. Cushion-cut diamonds are frequently set with four prongs to enhance fire, but they can be paired with a channel, split prongs, and a variety of other ring types.

Princess Cut

Princess-cut diamonds are indeed the brightest and also most popular cut of diamonds and are a contemporary form of the round diamond. Among square and rectangular diamonds, princess-cut diamonds with beveled edges and inverted pyramid-shaped diamonds are the brightest. With a classic bezel or a more modern channel setting, princess-cut diamonds stand out.

Emerald Cut

Emerald-cut diamonds have a beautiful symmetry and sparkle, as well as a graceful posture. The emerald cut, which is less expensive than other options, is suitable for people wishing to invest in a larger stone. Emerald cut diamonds have a rectangular form with measured steps on the sides. These procedures give the stone a gleaming, mirror-like appearance that shimmers and reflects light. Emerald-cut diamonds will look great as single stones or surrounded by smaller stones with baguettes.

Oval Cut

Oval-cut diamonds are renowned because of their brilliance and modern flare. They highlight dimensions and personal style. For an overall elegant appearance, each of these components should be symmetrical in relation to the others. All oval cut stones have a bow tie on their belly due to their shape and face. Depending on the quality of the cut, this hourglass-shaped shade will be more or less noticeable. Because of their bigger size, oval-cut diamonds look especially good on wide rings.

Pear Cut

Pear-cut diamonds, which resemble a drop shape, are especially preferred in solitaire rings and necklaces. Pear-cut diamonds with an evenly rounded tip are crafted with varying width-to-length ratios that determine whether the jewel appears round or elongated. Like oval cut stones, they have a bow tie in the middle, so high-quality pear cuts that will have as little shade as possible should be preferred.

Asscher Cut

Asscher-cut diamonds authentically symbolize true love since they are pure, durable, and stunning. Asscher cut diamonds have a wide table that allows you to glance into the centre of the stone. They are square with rounded corners. The diamond must be free of remnants, such as those of the VVS2 or greater grade, to achieve this clarity. Asscher diamonds can be tinted, albeit they must be flawless. Although asscher-cut diamonds are typically used for single stones, they can also be coupled with shoulder stones and pavé rings.
